Workshops

All my workshops are tailor made for my clients.  I specialise in providing time, space and process for creativity.  This means not only can I share technical skills, but also the process of exploring your own creativity.

I can provide workshops in drawing, watercolour, embroidery, hand stitched patchwork and also arts administration and project management.  I also specialise in sustainability in my creative practice.

It is a joy to share creative time with people of all ages and all abilities.

My next workshop with sensational sustainable textile artist Verity Lougoon is FREE and on Sunday the 4th of December - places are limited click here for more info.

Previous workshops:

Soft Frights for the Mornington Peninsular Council 2011
Easy construction is used to make a unique soft creature grinning with zip teeth, dainty buttons or maybe yours will be headless!  Children aged 5 - 12
You can check out some images of that workshop here.

Thank you so much Tamara for presenting the 'Soft Frights' workshop at Rosebud Library on Thursday 20 January 2011. Your workshop was so popular it was fully booked within days of promoting it and we had an extra 30 children who wanted to be added to the waiting list, just in case somebody dropped out.

The children were fully engaged throughout the workshop from choosing designs to sewing their creatures and stuffing and decorating them. All of the participants said they really enjoyed your workshop and it exceeded their expectations.

Places and Pieces Workshops for Bendigo Senior Secondary College, Craft Victoria and Regional Arts Victoria 2010
Jewellery Making reflecting place for year 11 art and ceramic students. Resulting work exhibited at Craft Victoria December 2010.

Participating in the Places and Pieces project really challenged our students to think about what was special about their ‘place’ and how everyone’s home can be special. It was encouraging to see students turning up early to class, eager to get started on their jewellery projects, without the need to be motivated. These students enjoyed using new materials and incorporating some of their ceramics skills in new ways different to what they had already been producing in class. Tam showed a most caring attitude to the cohort of students at our school and was sensitive to the different learning styles across the class. There was great excitement at seeing their work photographed professionally and displayed on the Craft Victoria website. This was a terrific project for our students to participate in!

English Paper Piercing Workshop for StLukes Women's Art Program 2010

Thank you so much for presenting the workshop. It was just fabulous and the women have continued on with the quilting.  Anna* finished her baby quilt and has it backed. Some of the others have done a lot since the workshop. Everyone was particular taken with the fact that it didn't have to be perfect and it still looks great! I  think it is really wonderful to pass on skills to mothers, who as a group,  may
not have grown up in families with the stability that might include traditional crafts. Now, for the children of these women, they will witness these skills and hopefully it is something that can be shared
and passed on!
